What it is
Polyester wadding is a soft, even layer of polyester fibre. In acoustic work it goes directly behind stretched fabric, giving the wall a smooth padded face and adding absorption. It does not shed itchy fibres, does not soak up moisture and keeps its loft, so it is cleaner to work with than wool for the final layer.
Where it goes
- Backing layer for stretched fabric walls on grippers
- Padding over rockwool or glasswool infill
- Soft-finish wall panels in home theatres
